π Putting Your Game Online

This is the big one. π The game you built and shipped can now sync up players and send moves across the internet. But it still only runs in your room.
The last step is the most magical: deployingβ putting your game somewhere the whole world can reach it, even while you're asleep.
The big idea: give your game a home and an address
Right now your game runs at localhost β a fancy word for βthis computer, right hereβ. Only you can reach it.
Deploying means copying your game onto a special computer in the cloud that never turns off, and giving it a public address(a URL, like cool-game.fun). Now anyone, anywhere, can type that address and play β because the game no longer needs your computer to be on. It has its own home. π
Your turn: launch it to the world
Press Deployand watch your game lift off. Then try the sneaky experiment: once it's live, turn off your own computer and see if the world keeps playing.
Just you β the game only runs here.
Discovery missions
Try each one, tick it off, then peek at the secret.
πBefore deploying, read the address bar. It says localhost. Who can play?
π€While the game is still local, turn OFF your computer. What happens?
πTurn your computer back on, then press βDeploy my game!β. What does it get?
πNow that it's live, turn OFF your computer again. Does the game stay up?
πPress βShare the linkβ a few times.
π You leveled up! You now know:
- π βlocalhostβ means just your computer β nobody else can reach it.
- π Deploying copies your game onto an always-on computer in the cloud.
- π It gets a public address (a URL) anyone can type to play.
- π΄ The cloud server stays awake, so people can play even when your PC is off.
- π Your game went from your room to the whole world!
You finished the whole journey!
From a single loop running in your room, all the way to a game the whole world can play. Look how far you came:
- π1. How games work β the loop, coordinates, collisions and sprites
- π2. What makes a game β goals, score, and enemies β the fun rules
- π€3. Building it (with AI) β design it, build it, finish your first game
- π4. Sharing it β servers, networking, and going online
You now understand how games really work. The only question left is the best one: what will YOU build? π‘
Tell Papa-Bot your wildest game idea and ask for the very first step. π€
